Really nice people & all the food is homemade. I ate 1/2 lb of garlic paste, and I'm allergic to garlic. Totally worth the anaphylactic shock--just kidding. I shall return!

We have been going here about once a month for the last 6 months. We are regular Union Lakers, not ethnic. So, we are trying new foods we never tried before at very reasonable prices and they let us try everything before we buy. They always have a unique in season vegetarian stew/soup every day which is always good. We've had a few dishes we love and few that were not our cup of tea. The burgal rice is fresh every day and awesome - we love it. We also love the Fattoush salad and Lentil soup. The thing I guess I like best is that the food is all fresh and unique to the day. It is not chain food with required chain ingredients. My Mom, who does not like ethnic food at all, liked the potato chop. We also liked Natalies favorite pita. Bottom line - does homemade spaghetti taste exactly the same every time??? If you use fresh in season ingredients, nope and that is a good thing. We usually eat lunch there and the tables are OK for that. I would not have a 'special' dining event there. We ordered take out for tailgating and they supplied us with more than enough of everything - plates, napkins, utensils, condiments, and of course food. They are very accommodating and work hard to please their customers.

Woah what a find this place was. I have eaten at a lot of Arabic restaurants, this Chaldean run eatery has a lot of things i have never seen on any Arabic menu before. It has some of the best Arabic food I have eaten. While it is really in BFE, the family run establishment is def worth a try. You will not be disappointed.

This place is across the street from our house, so when it came up on Restaraunt.com we gave it a try. They need to change the description, because I also assumed that it was sit down restaraunt. They have the tables but they are designed as a carry out. THE STAFF IS FANTASTIC and SUPER accomodating. My son was offered a cup and straw for his bottled water, unfortunately the cup had a starbucks logo and thru the guy assured me the 'had a stack in the back and they are clean", I decided my four year old can drink fron the bottle. They need to invest in some plain cups :) We were told that the two cousins there that night own the restaraunt with their family and that they opened seven months ago. They were both so friendly and accomodating, I am sure they will do well. The food we tried was good. Its Iraqi so the food is different from what you would expect in Metro-Detroit (mostly Lebanese). The house salad was perfect, and very generous serving size. The beef tika and beef sultani were kind of underseasoned. They do offer a curry or squash stew, but we were not excited by either. I definitely cant say that it was bad, just not what we expected. I am looking forward to trying some of the appetizers and wraps. There were definitely a lot of people stopping by for carry out. There are some kinks but with such welcoming and warm customer service, I think they will work out the small kinks soon.

Good home style food. It's hard to imagine ordering from this place if you haven't ordered before. Most dishes are great, for some it might be a first try. Their delivery is free except on Mondays. The dolma is stuffed grape leaves. This tastes great. The garlic sauce is amazing. The spicy hummus is extremely spicy.

I like this place! They are so friendly and everything I've eaten here is incredibly tasty. Order modestly though unless you're famished. The portions are huge!!!

About four years ago I noticed a new mediterranean restaurant opening up near my home. As a lover of middle eastern food I was very excited about this new development. After trying the fare at Anaam's Palate I knew I had found a favorite and it was here to stay! Upon my first visit I met the Anaam, who is one of the owners, and she explained that all of the dishes are made from actual family recipes that go back generations. Not only is the food authentic but VERY fresh and packed with flavor. From that moment on - I was hooked! Usually, I just walk in and place my order which takes about 15 minutes to prepare because everything is made fresh to order...you wont find ANY precooked, frozen or canned food here, so it is worth the wait. I usually spend about $20 and that gets us MORE than enough food for my husband and I. The portions at Anaam's are HUGE so we typically split an entree and order a few appetizers. Our favorite is a side of tabouli and the chicken shawarma entree over hummus - which comes with pita, pickled vegetables and salad. They also have amazing catering options that are perfect for large events. The family vibe is the first thing I noticed when I walked into Anaam's for the fist time. You can tell this restaurant is run with love and passion! Everyone is welcoming, friendly and truly believes in the food they serve to the community.

We are never disappointed by the friendly service and delicious food here. This is a fantastic takeout place or a wonderful place to stop for a friendly lunch. We recently had them cater for a group and the food was amazing! I have never received so many compliments on food at a party nor seen EVERYONE go back for seconds and thirds - and all for a great price. Very friendly local place with great food - who could ask for more?!

Yes, OK the place is small, but it's fine to eat in if it's a small party. And they really are incredibly friendly. To expand on a couple of things: It was mentioned that the food is Iraqi. The shawarma is a little different than what you're used to, in that it's chunks of meat instead of strips or shreds. The kabobs are more similar to kafta (ground, formed and seasoned meat cooked on a skewer) as opposed to chunks of beef or chicken. And you have a choice of rice (OK) or borgul (highly recommended). And most Middle Eastern restaurants around here don't serve Tikka Masala. The soups and stews are highly recommended. The curries are nicely spicy. There's one made with cucumber that sounded a little strange but was actually pretty fantastic, with the cuke nicely rounding out the spice. I usually save about half of the stew to eat over the leftover borgul the next day. And you will have leftovers to eat the next day. The "dinner for 2" is easily enough for 4 normal people.

Loved the food. Made fresh on site . They grind their own chick peas. Very friendly staff and large portions.

Best curry stew in the area!! thick and hearty, just enough spice. Get a half order of the chicken shwarma entree, perfect size for one person. The food paired with the friendly service makes for a great experience.

What a fantastic middle-eastern place! The food is amazing with very generous portions. We tried the chicken and beef kabobs plate for 2 and there was easily enough food there for 3-4 hungry people. Everything tasted homemade and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was too full to try their chicken shawarmas, but I'll definitely be coming back for more :)

I went there thinking (based on description on restaurant.com ) to be a regular sit-down restaurant. I was wrong: this is a carry-out place with three small utilitarian tables and chairs. I have to say I felt bad for the lady who was working there since she was the only employee, doing everything, from taking orders to cooking. Pros: Food quantity, semi-decent quality. Baba Ghanous is ok, a bit on the sweeter side - and I'm hoping it's so because of pomegranate juice. Friendly staff lady. Cons: 1. We ordered beef tikka and kabob sultani. Tika was supposed to be well-done and Sultani medium. They were reversed, which caused the kabob sultani to turn into a chewy steak. And it didn't have that much flavor either. While meat temp didn't hold up for the less than 10 min drive home, stews were scalding. I think they had the temp of their warmers too high, which caused them to also overcook and get a burnt taste. I used a restaurant.com "coupon" (first and last time I do that) which did say a minimum $ order was needed and that 18% gratuity was added. When I bought it I was OK with it (again, thinking this was a regular sit-down restaurant where tips are normal). However, although there was no service involved, the lady still added 18% gratuity to my bill. For what?! Conclusion: Unfortunately, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I won't be going there again.

Great food. A gem for the area as restaurants a few and hard to keep around in Commerce. This place is a carry out but the staff will accommodate you inside.
